I think I'm addicted to Hexyz Force. I haven't been this absorbed in a RPG for a long time. Not since Tales of Vesperia. And when I mean absorbed, I mean I think nothing about playing it at least for a two to three hours everyday, or more.

I have a lot of other RPGs to play, but they don't seem to give me the feeling of "I must know what's going to happen next!" kind of thing to make me this absorbed in it. Plus the game is not too hard enough to give me a headache from playing it, and it has replay value, since the game has multiple endings and two stories to play, and a harder difficulty from what I've heard. Some of the game's battle system also reminds me of various Wild ARMs games, which is one of my more favourite series of RPGs that I play.

Till now, I still don't have the motivation to play Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk/Dawn of the New World, and that says a lot :/

Also, I need to sit down and drown in the Japanese and play Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut, Tales of Destiny 2, Tales of Rebirth and Tales of Symphonia (PS2).

Also, a shameless plug, I finally decided to upload the re-written version of my Tales of Symphonia Fanfic. I actually have Chapter 2 done, but I haven't proofread it yet, and Chapter 3 is almost done.

There is this site that has the a lot of cool icons, and I went to visit it again today to see whether there are any new stuff and guess what? It was updated with some new icons and they're all cursors, cursors that can be used for your computer!

Anyone who's interested in downloading them, you can find them at this site here:- http://red.lad.jp/pc.html

Direct link for those that are unable to navigate the site:- http://red.lad.jp/ico/cur/cur.html

Though I highly encourage you to navigate the site since it has a lot of other cool icons. Credits to the site owner of course.

Haven't updated in a long time X_X I'll make this quick though...

Pokemon Heart Gold get! Now time for that game to eat my soul!

Also recently started playing Star Ocean Second Evolution. I really couldn't take it. I really had no motivation to finish Star Ocean First Departure. Not only the character choices per save file are more limited, the equipment sucks too. I still love SOSE to death BTW, though I find some of the name localization to be pretty stupid (not to mention WTF is with all that...American slang??? I think they're American slang...) when compared to the first localization which wasn't done by Square Enix (or Enix to be more exact)... Haven't finished the game yet though. Going through Rena's scenario first since that's the one I'm most familiar with. Playing it with the Japanese Guidebook which I got. Got to love Japanese Guidebooks. I have all the PAs that can be done and maps! Will probably bounce between playing Pokemon Heart Gold and Star Ocean Second Evolution.

I also recently fell in love with a Japanese show called Madan Senki Ryukendo. That show is awesome. It's way better than Power Rangers. In Power Rangers, I tend to only really pay attention to one or two characters, but for Ryukendo, I actually pay attention to all the Madan Warriors. Not only that, the show is funny in its own way at parts and the minor characters (the townspeople) sometimes gets the spot light too, though not often, but it's really different from Power Rangers. It's really awesome! And did I mention that there are no stupid giant robots/machines or the enemies growing bigger if they get defeated when normal human size? Sure, there are machines in the show, but they're JuuOh (Animal Kings), their Mecha Support Animals that help them and they are about the size of a normal human too. Although the last episode is leaving me a bit depressed. I'm going to re-watch it one more time, since I first watched the local dub that was airing on TV, then I started watching crappy YouTube quality videos that were uploaded, then I managed to locate the sub group that did it and someone directed me to all the episode downloads that were uploaded to MegaUpload (for once I'm actually glad that I'm a MegaUpload premium user), so I'm going to re-watch the whole thing again in the actual quality of the subbed version that was released.

Also finished World Destruction. The game wasn't too hard, in fact, it might be a little too easy... Not only that, I was too strong even without real leveling up and I defeated the final boss without she EVER taking a turn against me O_o Just so you know, the game is 10x100x better than the manga or anime. The characters that are represented in the anime/manga is NOTHING LIKE the game. In fact, their personalities are way off if I were to make a comment about it. Also, Crimson Sun Kyrie is awesome.

Just a short Fan Fiction status, I've finished writing Chapter 2 of my ToS fic and am currently working on Chapter 3, though I haven't proofread Chapter 2 yet. I'm debating on putting it up on FanFiction.net first, but I really don't know... I have more motivation to write rather than code a website at this point... Still got Eternal's site to work on... So I may just put it up at FF.net first... Also planning on a couple of one-shots :3

That's it for now? And Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] silentdrifterz, coincidentally who's birthday falls on the same day as mine XD;

Somehow, I ended up deciding to write skits based off the Tales of Symphonia fan fiction I'm working on as a companion to the main story which I don't want to include as part of the main story since it would be a bit hard to integrate it into the story itself because it will feel like bits and pieces of randomness (at least for me anyway). Might as well keep my randomness separate and writing them into skits instead :D

Skits range from humour related stuff, explaining more stuff about how stuff in the story works, extra character/relationship development, more depth about characters and things like that. I wonder how many of these I'm going to end up doing.

I'm beginning to think the rewritten story is going to be better than the previous one... :X
eternal_rena: (Yuri "Oh?")
Okay...putting up LJ cuts since the post itself is pretty long just to save your friends page...

MegaUpload fail )

Tales of Symphonia Fan Fiction )

Gaming stuff )

List of stuff to do )

Oh, and Nagi ([livejournal.com profile] chiyo_sama), the Shrimp Sushi plush you sent me, the smiling face on it...makes me want to smile too XD I see my package arrived safely too. Hope you like the stuff 8D

In unrelated news...Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver's release date in the US is one day before my birthday O_o It's going to be my birthday present for myself (getting Heart Gold) :X I just know the game is going to eat my soul and distract me from a lot of things DX

So many things to do...so little time...still have a bunch of public raws that I've scanned but have not rotated, cropped and resized yet...not to mention I already have my copy of Tales of Magazine for this month to look through, then update Eternal's project status threads...then start scanning the next chapter of Tales of Vesperia...._.

Yes, Tales of Vesperia scanlation is currently lagging. Behind. Maybe I should ask [livejournal.com profile] chiyo_sama to help me typeset again ~__~ But...Ughhhhhhh. Should I or should I not? I think I should... But I haven't even proofread the script for Chapter 5.5 yet, and I still need to do the final QC for release for Chapter 6. Looks like I'm going to have to do a batch chapter release since I can sit down and QC a lot of chapters for release at one go anyway...:'D

And I have two issues of Dengeki Maoh to look at. Not to mention some people are bothering me about the Tales of Hearts one shot in the previous month's issue. And I need to scan the next chapter of World Destruction for Kuu. Meh.

And I need to start clearing out my copies of Shounen Rival and Weekly Shounen Magazine. Magazine shelf running out of space, and those magazines are pretty much done anyway (and I need the space to dump my precious Dengeki Maoh (only for the Tales of series stuff in there though, so I need to pull out the pages I want and discard the rest) and Tales of Magazine). ._.

Not to mention I still haven't for the life of me figured out the settings in Telecide() for AVISynth to deinterlace all the frames correctly for the Tales of Symphonia OVA encodes for Abyssal Chronicles...GAH. I hate you interlaced source material! But I shall not give up cause I know it can be done! I really do not want to have to use freezeframe() to...fix those stupid frames cause it would make the video look like there's a slight lag since it's a motion frame from the interlaced frame (is it even interlaced or just combed???) to the okay ones...

And I want to play Pokemon Platinum T_T

And I'm not really making that much real progress story wise in Pokemon Platinum either *shot* Ever since I beat Wake and got the ability to use Surf out of battle...I've been doing exploring. I especially went to Iron Island first though to pick up the Riolu Egg that Riley gives you...so I can use those places with trainers to level it up...so I can finally have my team for the rest of the game up and running.

Current progress so far...
5 Gym Badges, currently exploring. Almost done though. Then it's off to challenge Byron.

My team progress so far...
Torterra Lv 43
Staraptor Lv 41
Floatzel Lv 42
Houndoom Lv 42
Raichu Lv 43
Lucario Lv 34

Okay...first order of business tonight, clear out Shounen Rival and look through Dengeki Maoh two months issues and Tales of Magazine while try to figure out Telecide() options for the ToS OVA encoding by encoding only the first few minutes of it...

Also...I'm still trying to decide whether to scanlate Tales of the Abyss: Tsuiko no Jade via magazine scans or tanko scans...but magazine only if I can figure out how to use this new denoising program to denoise nicely and its supposed to be better than Neat Image...GAHHHHHHHHHHH

Random Junks

Ugh...I haven't posted much in my journal...except my public raw scans and Eternal's releases lately *shot*

Need to post more...but I've got so much scanning to catch up on for both Eternal and [livejournal.com profile] talesofscans, so not much time to post DX

At least once I completely resolve the encoding problems for my DVD rips into anime raws for the Tales of Symphonia OVA for Abyssal Chronicles, I'll finally be able to get more into the scanning mode. Not to mention scanlation stuff for Eternal is piling up again...x_x

At least I've completely solved the problem for deinterlacing the video. Now all that is left is to figure out how to decimate the video properly so that when it's converted from 29.97 fps to 23.976 fps (which is the frame rate anime raws should have) so that the video will run smoothly and not laggy, jerky or jumpy (I'm having a jumping issue at the start of the video right now, otherwise it's smooth the rest of the way). It seems I can't change the cycle to any number other than cycle=5 otherwise the length/time of the video would be too long or too short from the original VOB video (there cannot be any time difference. At the most, only by 1 sec, otherwise the audio will be out of sync, and the audio is encoded separately to be muxed with the video later)...I'll probably need to mess around with the mode parameter with different modes to handle decimating the video so that I can get it smooth the entire way. Mode=2 is the one that is giving me the jumpy scene at the beginning of the video :S Mode=0 is a no go as it's causing jerky and lagginess at certain parts of the video which doesn't happen in the original VOB video source.

I think that's enough of my random babbling about video encoding which most of you on my flist probably don't understand...haha. Please, just ignore me. I'm new to encoding myself. AC's encoder (the one encoding Tales of the Abyss for Abyssal Chronicles) is the one teaching me stuff and I'm just playing around with what he taught XD

Time to sleep!
