An old anime

I'm currently downloading an old anime, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs. This was one of the few anime that I had liked watching when I was a kid. I never really got to watch all the episodes then (not good at keeping to watching TV shows schedule and it was shown on a Malaysian channel that Singapore can tune into, plus I was just...like in Primary School, so I was like...I dunno...between 7 to 10 years old? Can't remember...). I don't even know what an anime is then. For some reason, I just feel the urge to try and see if I can find the English dub of all the episodes for download somewhere...and amazingly, I found it on torrent, and it's not dead. There are several pretty recent torrents too.

The download is almost done, estimate about half a day to one more day, but I've started watching the first few episodes that are uploaded to Veoh while waiting for the BT download to complete. Man...I really love that anime for some reason, and I still like it. <3 to Saber Rider.

Now, when the American DVD of all 52 episodes gets released, I might actually consider buying it, especially if they have a box set. Yay, I shall go broke again XD

Ugh...I haven't posted much in my journal...except my public raw scans and Eternal's releases lately *shot*

Need to post more...but I've got so much scanning to catch up on for both Eternal and [livejournal.com profile] talesofscans, so not much time to post DX

At least once I completely resolve the encoding problems for my DVD rips into anime raws for the Tales of Symphonia OVA for Abyssal Chronicles, I'll finally be able to get more into the scanning mode. Not to mention scanlation stuff for Eternal is piling up again...x_x

At least I've completely solved the problem for deinterlacing the video. Now all that is left is to figure out how to decimate the video properly so that when it's converted from 29.97 fps to 23.976 fps (which is the frame rate anime raws should have) so that the video will run smoothly and not laggy, jerky or jumpy (I'm having a jumping issue at the start of the video right now, otherwise it's smooth the rest of the way). It seems I can't change the cycle to any number other than cycle=5 otherwise the length/time of the video would be too long or too short from the original VOB video (there cannot be any time difference. At the most, only by 1 sec, otherwise the audio will be out of sync, and the audio is encoded separately to be muxed with the video later)...I'll probably need to mess around with the mode parameter with different modes to handle decimating the video so that I can get it smooth the entire way. Mode=2 is the one that is giving me the jumpy scene at the beginning of the video :S Mode=0 is a no go as it's causing jerky and lagginess at certain parts of the video which doesn't happen in the original VOB video source.

I think that's enough of my random babbling about video encoding which most of you on my flist probably don't understand...haha. Please, just ignore me. I'm new to encoding myself. AC's encoder (the one encoding Tales of the Abyss for Abyssal Chronicles) is the one teaching me stuff and I'm just playing around with what he taught XD

Time to sleep!

The first thing, I've just received in the mail the Jade Special version (Jade holding his Catalyst weapon) from the Tales of the Abyss One-Coin Grande Figurines that I had bought from [livejournal.com profile] funk_mastah_ion. So now, with that last figurine, my collection for the Tales of the Abyss One-Coin Grande figurines are now complete (all 13)! I had bought an entire box of 12 from CDJapan about one or two years back when it was just released, and I got all the normal versions for the six characters and the special version of all the six characters minus Jade with Ion. So happy to have the entire set now.

Now I just need to wait for the Tales of Vesperia one to be released XD

I've also finally pre-ordered Vol 1 of Tales of the Abyss Anime DVD. I'm a freak...haha. I just love to get things/collectibles related to Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss and now, Tales of Vesperia is in the list too XD, although I get all official serializations of the manga tankoubons for any of the Tales of Series.

My paycheck and 13th month bonus is also finally in. Another happy thing XD

So, with my paycheck, I've finally ordered ToS: Dawn of the New World and Blue Dragon games from Play-Asia, and also bought the Guidebooks for ToS: Dawn of the New World, Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata. Although I won't be able to play ToS: Dawn of the New World cause I haven't bought my Wii yet, but I thought I might as well get the game first anyway, since I've got some discount coupons from Play-Asia, but I probably won't be getting the Wii until sometime between April 2009 to June 2009, so won't be playing it until then. I want to be absolutely sure that I have the money to get it without it affecting some of the more important things I need to pay for first, like my for Web Host (No web host means no site for Eternal, Chinese New Year stuff, my manga and my needs (like food, etc) :S

I wonder when will more information for the Wii mothership game for 2009 be revealed? I hope it gets a US release, maybe like around the later half of 2009 or early 2010, which would be perfect timing for me since I'll be getting my Wii at the later part of the first half of 2009, which will also give me enough time to mess around with ToS: Dawn of the New World.

P.S. I still have one more coupon left from Play-Asia, 12 USD discount for a minimum of 100 USD purchase. I won't be using it, since I've already gotten what I want from there already, and it's only valid till the end of 2008, so if anyone wants it, I'll give it to you. Just drop me a reply :p

P.P.S. Just in case you're wondering, the coupons I've used are the 5 USD discount for 50 USD purchase and 8 USD discount for 50 USD purchase, since I would save 1 USD more XD. I've ordered the games and the guidebooks in two separate orders, and both of them with free shipping too.
