Hi Tales of VS!

Just finished Yuri and Farah's scenario in Yggdrasil mode for Tales of VS. today. Unlocked Mao and Caius together with their Yggdrasil mode scenario.

After doing some research, it seems that some of the characters do not have a scenario in Yggdrasil mode. The only way to level them is through Quick Battle, then doing Arcade Battle, Survival Battle or Single Battle. Of course, you can level any character using Quick Battle, regardless whether they have a scenario or not. I also did some research on how to unlock the characters, and I think basically all of them have been listed. I'm almost done training Lloyd and Colette up and I'll be shooting through their scenario in Yggdrasil mode next to unlock Cless and Kratos.

I've also been randomly training up characters using Quick Battle.

So yeah, I'm still addicted to the game XD

So what is VS like? Better or worse than you expected it? I'm thinking of importing it, though I'm not sure if I just buy it in Japanese or wait for an English release (if it gets one).

Actually, I wasn't really planning on getting the game at all, but when I saw it sitting on the shelf locally, I had to buy it. So you could say that I wasn't really expecting anything, just a fighting type game where you can build up characters.

For me, I'm having fun playing it. It may take a while to get used to playing it, since it may be a bit hard at the beginning. But battle wise, it's actually just like playing a normal Tales game, it's just that you treat all your opponents as the human enemies you fight against, and certain battle fields you need to be careful of field hazards.

The characters don't get their full set of artes from the game they're from, so don't expect that. But all the characters will learn all their artes by the time they can use their Mystic Artes. The degree of character customisation is also not bad. Although you can only set 4 artes to any character and there is no shortcut. You also cannot switch control to your partner (if any) at any point in time.
