Okay...I've got a strange thing I've been seeing of my computer lately. An empty folder of mine in my Manga Raws folder (named zz Scans) always seem to go missing! This has happened a few times already too...and I SWEAR THAT I DIDN'T DELETE THE FOLDER!!! I have no reason to delete that folder either...I'm using that folder practically twice a week because that folder is where I save the current manga chapter I'm scanning from Japanese Manga Magazines (my public raws)...I was like "What the hell??? Why does that folder always go missing??? I didn't delete it or anything!!!"

Well, not only that, my external harddrive also has that same folder (not used so it's always empty, it's only used when I backup anything I've scanned halfway, to be continued the next day, this is only for public raws, my scans that are for scanlations go into a different set of folder altogether and are saved as PSDs), but nothing ever happens to it!

Not only that, this doesn't happen with any other empty folders I have created in my computer's harddrive (yes, I have quite a few of them...I prepare them beforehand for scanning, saving HQ and LQ raws, and also the final files which are for release that I'm scanlating for my manga group...)

I really can't figure it out -_-"

Could it be Photoshop acting stupid? That is the only difference between my internal harddrive and external harddrive...My external harddrive is only for backup. I never run anything with Photoshop that is saved in my external harddrive. So now I've deleted that same folder from my external harddrive...let's see what happens...

Thankfully this strange problem doesn't happen to my folders which actually have something in them...(although it wouldn't matter too much since I have a backup always on my external harddrive)

Yes, I highly suspect it's Photoshop. Yes, I'm serious.

*fangirling over the cute Tear's pic*

Photoshop is stupid. I mean, it nearly froze my computer a couple of times already. XD

But I never know before that you have to prepare folders for each stages of scanning RAW. I mean, I only used one folder per chapter and do anything in that one folder . . . XD;

The reason it freezes your computer is probably because that your computer doesn't have enough memory to handle it. Photoshop is actually a quite memory hogging program. Also, the more files you open in Photoshop, the more memory it takes. That's why Photoshop has a limitation on how many files you can open at once.

Yes, I have a lot of folders, and I have them for separate chapters cause I must organize the things on my computer otherwise I won't be able to find anything. It's also neater this way ;)

XD;

So that's why Photoshop took forever to open on my computer . . . and froze right after a while . . . XD

I only have folders for seperate chapters, but not for different process. Like, I did everything related to scanning RAW of one chapter of manga in one folder only . . . which is now why I got a feeling that I'm getting something wrong here . . . >.>"

Sorry . . . >_<"

Still, it's really strange that your computer delete that empty folder. Computer shouldn't do that . . . XD

Yeah, that's why you need a computer powerful enough to handle it and you also need a decent size harddrive and about a few gigabytes left in it always.

I also do my magazine scans (not tankoubon scans for scanlations for my group) in one folder, then I will move them into the appropriate folders later. Note that I also give the files a good file name XD

Yeah, the computer shouldn't be deleting my stuff without my consent DX

That's weird. If just empty folder I'd think it's because external drive... but it deleted? Sound like virus for me >_> If not, wow. Photoshop invent a new function XD;

I assure you, it's not a virus. I have never gotten a virus on my computer ever, they get stopped even before they try (plus I don't download stuff from places or open files from people that I don't know or trust). My computer is completely virus free. The only reason I have for this is Photoshop, cause I have to switch from this folder back to my manga scanlations folder a lot for scanning/typesetting stuff...I've had programs act stupid on me before...

This wouldn't necessarily be the first time a program acted funny on me or even the computer acting stupid and it isn't because of a virus.

I've had photoshop not be able to recognize my scans before because I rotated them right side up on a different computer, and yeah, Photoshop is a memory hog. I'm not to sure how many files I can open up before it crashes.....I know it's at least 24 files at one time ^-^

Unable to recognise your scans? As in unable to open them?

My photoshop doesn't crash from opening too many files. In fact, my photoshop doesn't even allow me to open more than a certain number of files (can't remember the number, I think it was between 12-15...might be some photoshop setting) so...I haven't really have photoshop crash on me before.

It would say that "that color profile was not compatible" or something and the image would look color distorted, but when I opened the files again without rotating them on a different computer.......they opened up just fine. It only happened once but it still took a while to figure out what the problem was.

Hmm...rotating an image isn't supposed to change the color profile...that's just weird =/
